Note: The following list of severe weather parameters is only a suggestion of some of our standard parameters. These parameters can be modified or additional parameters can be added to suit your specific needs.
Description of Severe Weather Parameters |

General Thunderstorms | Occasional Lightning, wind gusts less than 40 mph, no hail or tornadoes. |
Severe Thunderstorms | Frequent lightning, wind gusts 40 mph or greater, hail or tornadoes possible. |
High Wind | Sustained wind 35 mph or greater and/or wind gusts of 45 mph or greater. |
Excessive Rainfall | Rainfall accumulations of 1.5 inches in one hour or up to 3 inches in 12 hours. |
Dense Fog | Visibility reduced to less than 1 mile in fog. |
Freezing Temperatures | Temperatures below 32ºF expected. |
Freezing/Frozen Precipitation | Includes sleet, snow, or freezing rain. |
Wind Chill Below 32F | Issued when we are expecting a wind chill of 32F or lower for your location to last more than 2 hours. |
Temperature 100F / Heat Index 110F or More | Heat Index of 110ºF or more and/or temperature of 100ºF or more. |
